Râşnov Citadel became the first objective in Romania accepted in

European Network Forte Cultura

About the project Heritage Hub RâÈ™nov

Mioritics Association, RâÈ™nov City Hall (RâÈ™nov City) and Norwegian partner Hands on History are working together to develop a strategic and sustainable management model for RâÈ™nov Citadel.
The need for this project arose because the concept of cultural management has changed significantlyin recent decades, and our societies tend to focus again on dialogue between cultures, respect for identityand diversity, as well as on the feeling of belonging to a community of values.
And because this evolution requires new managerial approaches, based on principles and criteria of quality, authenticity and sustainability, more participatory and involving greater collaboration, the Mioritics Association proposes them through the Heritage Hub RâÈ™nov project, so that they can then be transferred as a model of good practices to RâÈ™nov City Hall and to 35 professionals in the field of historical monuments in Romania.

As part of the project (November 2022 - April 2024), a cultural management plan will be developed and tested, a medieval festival will be organized with 30 specialists from Norway, a heritage education pilot program will be developed and implemented for 30 teaching staff and 250 students, at least 5 local artists/creators will be helped to better value their work and a new tourist product will be created based on the medieval history of RâÈ™nov and the Norwegian model "Go Viking Hiking ". All this will result in the development of RâÈ™nov Citadel as a cultural HUB for the local community and international institutions and organizations.

The project of the Mioritics Association is one of the 18 winning projects within the call Strengthening cultural entrepreneurship and the development of the audience and the public (session 3), financed by the RO-CULTUR
E Program, with the support of SEE Grants 2014 – 2021.
