RâÈ™nov Fortress is currently closed for rehabilitation. You can visit the Citadel garden for FREE.
Program for visiting the Râșnov Citadel garden: SUMMER: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (June, July, August); WINTER: 9.00 – 17.00.
The Inclined Lift operates between 01.10.2023-30.04.2024 from Thursday to Sunday, between 9.00 and 17.00. Inclined Plan Lift Rates: ADULT (round trip) - 25 lei; CHILD (round trip) - 15 lei; ADULT (one way or return) - 15 lei; CHILD (one way or return) - 10 lei.

How do you get to Râșnov?
By car or bus
Access to Râşnov, from Braşov, is on DN73, by car or by public transport (bus). The Braşov-Râşnov distance is approximately 15 kilometers.
Train Brasov-RâÅŸnov
Inclined Plan Elevator

From BraÅŸov you can take a train that runs on the route BraÅŸov – RâÅŸnov – ZărneÅŸti. The train journey takes approx. 20 minutes. Tickets are taken from the main train station in BraÅŸov.

From the railway station in RâÈ™nov to the base of Dealului Cetății, the walk takes approx. 10 minutes. Once you are in PiaÈ›a Unirii (underneath is the underground parking lot), you can choose to go up with the elevator or a walk, on the road through the forest. The boarding station is behind the RâÈ™nov House of Culture. If you choose to reach Cetate using this means of transport, you can also enjoy the surroundings of the city from the belvedere platform set up at the station near Cetate.

The overall objective of the project is to create a sustainable management model for Rasnov Fortress, using the opportunities offered by the local heritage to develop cultural experiences and the local business environment.

Project timeline: November 2022 - April 2024 (18 months)

The total value of the project is 982,269.20 lei, equivalent to 199,175.85 euros.
